  Department Order No.4: Hazardous Occupations to Young Workers and Some Identified Hazards

A.Farming, Fishing, Hunting, Logging and Related Occupations

Occupations Some Identified Hazards
1. Farming Unsafe machinery; hazardous substances; accidents; chemical poisoning; ardous work; dangerous animals; insects and reptiles; cuts from sickles and machetes; burns, electrocution, fractures and amputations caused by contact with moving parts; falls; exposure to noise and vibration; exposure to gases, vapors, and dusts from transport equipment; exposure to harsh weather conditions.
2. Fishing Decompression illness; dangerous fish; death or injury; cuts, bruises, sprains and strains; exposure to harsh weather conditions; high level of noise exposure specially on highly mechanized fishing boats.
3. Diving Decompression illness; dangerous fish; death or injury
4. Logging (as cutter, sawyer, stripper, cable installer, feller) Accidents (loss of limb or life, danger from unprotected moving parts) Danger from moving engine parts; accidents; cuts; burns; exposure to heat and noise; noise stress; eye and ear injuries; exposure to vibration. Physical stress and strain; musculoskeletal diseases
5. Charcoal Burning (big scale) Carbon monoxide poisoning, damage to eyes; damage to respiratory system; exposure to dusts; exposure to extreme heat (heat stress and burns)
